Fellow CSI members and friends,

Programs: Join 80 other colleagues on Tuesday, May 21 for an all day Continuing Education
Seminar on “Everything You Did Not Know About Air Barriers”.

This program is a joint effort of the Air Barrier Association of America (ABAA), the St. Louis Chapter – Building Enclosure Council (BEC), and the St. Louis Chapter – Construction Specifications Institute.

Our featured speakers are Laverne Dalgleish and Ryan Dalgleish from the Building Products Consortium, and
Lance Robson, Principal, Building Envelope Technologies, Inc. This program will address the “fundamentals
of building envelope design” to prevent and control the effects of air, moisture, vapor, and heat movement
through the entire building shell (the six sides of the cube). Attendees will receive 8 hours of continuing education.

The program includes continental breakfast and lunch. Program cost is $100 for CSI Members, $125 for non-members, and $150 at the door the day of the event – space permitting.

The program will be held at the Engineers Club of St. Louis, 4359 Lindell Blvd., near the New Cathedral. Registration
starts at 7:00 AM. Be sure to allow a little extra travel time due to Highway 40 / I 64 Construction.

Be sure to set aside Wednesday evening June 18 for the annual “Business” Meeting, Installation of Officers, and awards program. This event will be held at the “Pujols 5” restaurant, at Westport Plaza beginning at 6:00 PM. Again, contact Jan Patrick for reservations not later than June 14.

Chapter Improvement: Past Chapter President, Bill Frein at my request, has conducted an initial review of the Chapter By Laws, which have not been updated in several years. The upcoming year will require the chapter to consider several by law changes to keep us current within the industry. Additionally, we will need to update the chapter’s “Administrative Guide” as well to keep that material up to date with current trends.
