| September 16, 2004 CSI Terry Brown Memorial Golf Classic WRAP UP Chicks Rule, Guys Drool at CSI Golf Event (Crescent, MO) In a surprising display of toughness and competitiveness, the fearless foursome from Singer Wallcoverings charged to victory in the annual CSI "Terry Brown Memorial" golf tournament at Aberdeen Golf Club on September 16. Captained by Susan Powell and Kelly Boone, these "ladies of the links" left lasting lumps on the lackluster egos of the assembled "girlie men" who could only stand in awe at the 59 posted by our winners. The gauntlet has been dropped. The challenge has been issued. Singer Wallcoverings stands alone atop the leader board ready to defend its turf in the 2005 classic. Perhaps those wishing to unseat our champions could benefit from some lessons? What a treat it was to gather under the warm September sun to renew friendships and business relationships all the while knowing we should be at work (not that golf isn’t work for most of us). The course was in great shape, the drinks were cold and the prizes were, well they were prizes. Actually we had great prizes this year, including dinner certificates, tickets to the Mizzou-Colorado game, wind-shirts, golf hats and of course, a toilet bowl plunger. As part of the post-golf festivities, Ed Glock and Randy Miltenberger revived an award presentation that has been dormant for over a decade, the Terry Brown "Sandbagger" plaque (actually a pair of Terry’s old golf shoes, spray painted gold and mounted on a piece of tile). The original winner of the award, Randy Miltenberger, refuses to give it back, so pictures of the plaque were awarded to Dan Wienstroer and Bill Kendrick as recipients in 2004. If you know these guys, there’s no need to wonder why they were selected. Mike Cerutti was a close second. Thanks, as always, to all of our sponsors. Whether they are product people or industry associations, they make the difference between a good tournament and a truly great one. (See below for a complete list) And thanks to all 84 players. We keep adding groups every year and hopefully you enjoy participating as much as we do producing. If you think about it you’ll agree that CSI is the only construction organization that truly represents the entire industry: designers, product and service reps, trade associations, contractors AND labor. If you are reading this and you don’t play in this golf tournament, you really should consider it, if for nothing else than these are some of the nicest people you’ll ever meet.
